and reaches the kidneys. Its
action on the collecting
duct causes an increase in
water permeability and
subsequent water
reabsorption by the body.
Aldosterone is released from
the adrenal cortex and acts
on the collecting duct to
make it more permeable to
sodium to allow for sodium
reuptake by the body.
